The advantages of wireless technology: security and freedom

The wireless intercom system can be used to welcome and filter visitors. Using the system, remotely opening one or several entrances (pedestrian gate, driveway gate and garage door), and activating external lighting to facilitate access to users' homes could not be simpler. The portable indoor handset is wireless allowing users to move around freely.

Wireless remote entry control systems for the home, advantages of the range :

Welcoming, filtering and controlling the wireless entry control system can be used to welcome and filter visitors, listen in to background sounds at entrances and operate up to 16 automatic systems from the home:

• up to 4 electrical latches or locks (pedestrian gate access),
• up to 4 automatic gates (car access),
• up to 4 automatic garage doors *,
• up to 4 lighting receivers *.

Operating Electric Lock

The wireless intercom can support an electric lock 12v (optional accessory).

New Installations: - It is important to install the electric lock before you perform the Radio Recognition test. If the lock is not attached the wireless controller will ignore terminals 3 & 4 and not provide an output.

Existing Installations: - If an electric lock is installed to an existing system, you must delete the Radio Recognition first, then fit the lock and then re-perform the Radio Recognition test. If this is not done, the lock output terminals will not be active.

Being a 2 property intercom, this means the caller unit will come with two push buttons and there will be two handsets included.

Control and communication
The wireless intercom system can be used to check entrances (open or closed) and lighting (on or off) via the handset screen, and to communicate with another handset.

* Associated receivers needed

Easy access control
From outside
• A pedestrian gate and/or driveway gate can be opened from the street by entering an access code or holding up the badge to the caller unit with keypad.
• Up to 16 badges can be managed by the outdoor caller unit.
• Use of the outdoor caller unit is facilitated thanks to the back-lit keys.

From inside
• Users can identify visitors without having to move using the mobile handset.
• Users can move around their home wearing the portable handset fitted to a belt clip.
• Full duplex digital communication.
• The handset can be used in hands-free or private conversation (hand-held) mode.
• The volume can be adjusted during communication.
• Users can listen in to background sounds at the outdoor caller unit.
• The handset screen is back-lit during a call or when a key is pressed.
• The pedestrian gate, driveway gate or garage door can be opened or closed by simply pressing a button on the
handset.
• Different entrances can be controlled.

Recommended Distances
In clear conditions the intercom has a wireless range of upto 150m where there is clear uninterupted sight from the handset to the control panel, but its recommended to use upto 100m, this may vary in built-up areas. The distance can be extended by wiring the controller box from the callpoint closer to the household.

Extended range will go further than 30m if 1.5mm2 cat5e screened cable is used  with the 12v transformer ( 70m max ).

Easy and flexible to install
• Choice of internal handset unit location: on a table or fixed to a wall.
• Activation of up to 16 automatic systems using the same handset (4 radio receivers per button).
• Communication between handsets possible.
• Outdoor caller units for one or two dwellings
• The same handset can manage up to 4 call buttons each with a specific ring tone.

No major work required
No trenching outside or running cables inside
• No wires need to be pulled between the indoor handset unit and the driveway gate, pedestrian gate, garage door or lighting.
• No trenches need to be dug or rebating work performed to install the system. This means zero damage to both the inside and outside of the home.

Gate Automation

Please select what type of automation you require for your gate/s. Double & Single Swing refer to motors which attach to the gate and pillar of a swing motion gate. Double & Single Underground refer to motors which lay beneath the ground which attach to the hinge end of swing motion gates. Choose Sliding if you require lateral moving gate automation and Wheeled if you require a motor which utilises a wheeled motor to drive your gate/s.

Motor Voltage

There are two types of power outputs to consider - 24v & 230v. If you need a higher number of operations (opened/closed more than 5-6 times in an hour) during peak periods such as the morning and evening, then you may wish to consider a 24v system.

24v systems are more suitable for higher operation levels as they tend to run cooler than 230v gate motors. However, they do cost more in relative terms, so if you only need to open or close the gate 1-5 times an hour then a 230v system might prove more cost-efficient.

24v motors tend to be used on commercial premises, whereas 230v tend to be used on standard domestic properties. The exception to this rule is sliding gate motors where the reverse is true - 24v sliding gate automation systems tend to be for domestic use, 230v for more intense use (commercial/communal).

24v systems can draw power from battery backup systems meaning they can still operate during any mains power cut (a 230v or 3 phase system would need to be opened with a manual release key).

24v systems can also utilise solar power units as a means of charging batteries, allowing you to site gate automation in rural and remote locations where mains power is unavailable.

Specifications can be found for each product from their datasheet. Each datasheet is downloadable from each product page on this website.

Weight of Gate

All electric gate motors operate up to a maximum weight. This is so the gate will operate in a reliable and safe manner. It is essential to know the weight of each gate leaf in order to choose the correct motor for you installation. If you do not know the weight of your gate/s, send us a photo along with the gate/s dimensions and we can advise.

Gate Width

As with weight, gate motors are designed for gates within certain dimensions. The most important dimension is the width of the gate. To ensure you select the right motor to operate your gate you must know the width of each gate that requires automation.

Opening Angle

Each motor has a maximum angle to which it can operate to. Therefore it is important to note how far the gate needs to open in order for a vehicle to enter/exit safely.

Daily Use

The amount of times your gate is used per day is a determining factor when deciding on the right motor for your usage. Motors are designed to operate within a certain capacity (operations per day) so choosing a motor compatible with your desired use is essential for its durability. Select from the options below the number of times (open & closure = 1 x operation) the gate/s will be operated on an average day.
